    2019 GP1800R Pressure/Vacuum when opening gas cap

Hello all... curious if this is correct... after running my gp for a bit when I open the gas cap there is a significant amount of vacuum in the tank, air rushes in when opening gas cap...enough to hear the tank swelling back up to normal size in the boat. This seems incorrect as it would be working against fuel pressure. Curious if this is normal or if my tank vent is malfunctioning? Anyone help please? Thanks - Anthony

you need to repost this in the Yamaha 4 stroke section to get better reply, How ever there should never be a vacuum in your fuel tank. some moderate pressure as the check valve will let air in and slight pressure out if it gets excessive.

follow your vent line from tank up and be sure it is not pinched or kinked . also check valve in vent line should have a arrow on it pointing to gas tank showing a flow going to tank.

^ like he said make sure the vent line isn't s not pinched. there was a thread a while back where the factory managed to pinch the vent line between the upper/lower hull when they put it together.... wierd stuff happens sometimes
