Thread: Water in hull

    Water in hull

When I go to take my ski out I get water in my hull each time. I can't figure where.

I hooked it up to a hose and couldn't find anything leaking.
I put water in the hull and it is not leaking.

Typing this makes me think I need to go to the launch and start it up and give it gas on the trailer to see if something starts leaking.

    Any other ideas?

What is the best way to check that? Fill it with water and take the ride plate off?

How deep did you fill up the engine bay? I had to fill mine up until it covered the cooling pipes coming through the transom to find the leak. Then I could see water dripping from just in front of the ride plate. I put in on the trailer, put the drain plugs in and filled the engine bay with a garden hose.

When it's on the trailer, raise the front of the trailer up a good 25'. You won't need to much water put in the hull to see the possible leak and raising the front keeps the water off the engine.

I pulled the transom off and am resealing it and cleaning things up. I am going to use 5200 slow cure in black.

    This thread has been helpful.

So I noticed when I took my transom out that my intake grate sat lower then the transom. Reading this now.
