the preload is fairly important. I haven't repaired a later model driveline yet, but there's a spec for how much "squish" the bellows gets".

too much and the carbon seal will overheat ( especially on out of water running)...too little and it will leak. given the consequences of overheating. I'd consider fastening a thermisitor to the carbone ring so the actual seal temp can be monitored during trials. That shouldn't be too difficult to rig with a cheap multimeter

or have one big mofo bilge pump in there..just in case.

i've seen some aftermarket top hats that were just massive compared to the oem style..have to catch up on the thread, been away for a while

fairly good setup my home spa uses something very similar on the water pump shaft. I kinda laughed when I had to repair it and I got the pump out of the depths of the spa box

didn't laugh at the price however..that was an expensive bit and my water is so hard around here I have to do it every couple of years

I thought about putting one of the water dumps into whatever I mount the carbon seal bellows to so that when its on the hose it gets doused to leep it cool.

I have to mount the bellows to something, since the diameter of the doo driveshaft is larger than the kawasaki shaft I have to drill the hull and install a new insert anyways. If I can use the new floating style then I think I will. Whats another $6?

I got the alignment tool in the mail today and I am hoping to try and get the motors pulled this weekend.

This is the x motor, the rear left side motor mount was separated and fell apart when I pulled the motor up.

Interesting part, was able to pull some measurements off it but I will not be using it for the final install.

Its glass fiber reinforced nylon which is a reasonable choice for the application since it doesn't corrode and is mostly inert when it comes to oil/fuel. Im not thrilled about the wall thickness on it given I don't know the tunnel pressures yet and I don't need the weird angled section at the bottom.

I will see if I can find a similar way to make a more universal part for the ski. Hopefully I will be able to pickup one or both of my kawasaki hulls this upcoming weekend.

Well I picked up the wrong stxr yesterday, how many people can say that has ever happened... This one is supposed to be getting a new cylinder and then get sold. My other one is going to be getting the seadoo motor in it.

Shoe and water inlets/outlets, steering and reverse position.

The first issue is that the reverse position on the kawasaki is on the side while the doo is on the top.
