Hi, I'm going to sea fishing and I reel that will throw very accurately. I read that baitcasting reels are perfect for sea fishing. Someone used? Share your opinion about them.

Baitcasters in my opinion are for bass fishing. I would get a stout 7'+ spinning rod to throw around. That is if what I am reading is interpreted correctly.

Personally I prefer baitcasters but you have to know how to cast them or they are a pain in the ass.

If you mess up your cast with a spinning reel you can typically just reel it back in, on a baitcaster you can get a bird nest from a bad cast and have to untangle the spool before casting again.

If you are wade fishing it can be frusterating because once your drag is set and you get the reel wet the drag changes and you have to be more careful or adjust your drag.

I use an Abu Garcia 4600 c3 with 12lb or 14lb test monofiliment line on a cast away medium action popping rod, 7ft long. Its an older setup but has been great and not break the bank expensive.
