03 Seado LRV engine swap from Direct Inject to Carbs

Just bought a 2003 LRV without the engine and was planning to switch out the engine and electrical from a 99 GTX Limited into it. Since the LRV is a Direct Inject and I want to put in a carb engine, can anyone give me some issues that I may encounter on this project. much appreciated.

I have done this exact machine. You will need a carbed LRV throttle cable. You will need to drill and mount the choke, fuel selector, and fuel filter cup. You can swap out the fuel tank or have a plate made with a short neck to bolt where the fuel pump is and mount your carbed pickup assembly. You will need to put in the GTX wiring harness and mount the MPEM on the left side near the reverse handle. I think I used one existing bolt in that area. Part of the harness will just barely reach there. You can leave the existing gauge and just hook it back to the GTX mpem. Possibly other tidbits I'm forgetting.

Thanks for the info. Anyway the GTX throttle cable would work, I ask because I seen some eBay auction indicated that the cable fits both the GTX and LRV. Or maybe it's that the LRV fits the GTX If you think of anything else let me know. Thanks again

No, the GTX throttle cable is too short trust me, I bought 2 different throttle cables before I gave up and bought a brand new one.

Just so happens this customer brought the LRV in for a plug fouling issue. Took some pics for you.

You will need a barbed hose reducer. The DI has a larger hose coming in.

I used one original MPEM stud and drilled a new hole for the forward mount.

Fuel switch mount, and the rivets next to the oil cap are holding the oem fuel filter cup assembly. Also a peek in at the aluminum adapter I made to mount the carbed fuel pickup.

Here you can see the RAVE solenoid and the vent tube. With the seats on you can't see the vent. The second pic shows a piece of hose I added around the choke cable to keep it from bending too tight.
