Question about a bigger super charger on the 300

So all I see thats avaible as far as a bigger charger for the 300 is the ET 142 and the Riva XXX, are those the only choices and if so what do you guys like and what kind of boost will they put out at 8300 rpm's? I'm not looking to run at 8500+ I just like the pull of the bigger chargers even at stock rpm's they are better than a stock charger..... I don't even know what a stock charger is putting out for boost....anyone?

Get a XX charger but anyhow just keep the stock if you not planning on running past 8500.

In my opinion the bigger chargers shine in the upper RPMs. Your best bang for buck is just replacing your factory compressor wheel with a XX wheel which will give more boost for 1/3rd the price. Makes more sense since it is designed more for that range of power anyways.

How do you figure 1/3 price? $750 for 142 wheel and $100 to machin housing or $550 for drop in wheel. For $550 you get a VERY marginal performance increase and only a couple lbs more boost or $200 more and over 10lbs more boost. Your math doesnt add up either in hp to dollar for mod or in initial cap cost. If you're spinning 8500 anyways with the 135, why not spin 9000 and have a smile on your face?

I agree completely to buy the bigger charger. OP stated he has zero intention of running above 8500rpm. Whats the point of a XXX or 142ET at that range? Pretty much nothing.

8500 you are still making 17lbsish and bottom and mid range punch would be the reason.

Depends on RPMs of course but I pulled 13.07 PSI bone stock with limiters removed, revving 8080. Boost went up to 14 PSI at 8260, 15 PSI at 8400 with a 4" air intake.
