my head pics
here they are i pulled because the plugs looked way lean, but when i looked at the heads they look pretty good. please comment if you see otherwise, and what about those plugs? I included a pic of one of the cooling exits on the head to show that too much sealant can be a bad thing be careful when sealing ports that could become restricted. The pics go from up left: mag, up rt: cen, lo left: pto. * note: i had to turn the low speed screws out about 2 full turns and the high speed 1 to compensate for the vortex f/a's. all these pics were taken ater those adjustments and with new plugs.

I'm with rgard32, that is definately lean. Although, how old are those plugs? Sometimes new plugs can give you false readings.

ok i am lean, is that based on the piston wash or the plugs, or both? the plugs are new on that run. i think what i will do (or should i) is if it is lean, which it seems to be, is replace the jets, if i am that lean turning screws might not fix it? if i go with bigger jets perhaps i can get more fuel in and then use screws to fine tune it? or can screws fix the problem? this is the first time i have done this carb tuning. please keep giving me advice.

back it out 1 full turn if u wanna be REAL safe....u can always go in... the plugs are new? prolly why there still white... the wash is what gave it away for me...it cant be insane lean..if it was you woulda already had a hole in the piston LOL

Left pic is close, but still on the lean side. The other two need more fuel.

look at my holes
sounds good i will try to accomplish it with the screws. it doesn't sound like anyone thinks it is a jetting issue. just got done polishing my exhaust take a look. i was amazed how rough those babies were. started out with a dremel took it down with 180 and finished up with some 600 wet! looks much much better and should allow some nice exhaust flow.
