    97-99 GP 1200 Intake length.

Hello all, I am building a 12' jet boat and need the shortest intake i can get for a 1200cc. I was told the GP intake was shorter than the XLT 1200. If someone here has the mentioned ski, could you measure the length of the intake from the mounting surface to the end of the intake. Thanks for the help.

The GPR is a side draft manifold vs a 90 degree manifold on a GP 65U engine . Are you limited by side clearance? I have both engines as spare engines, what measurement do you need ? The GPR Carbs measured about 120mm from the crankcase to the top of carbs with no flame Arrestor. The GP manifold is very similar in length but they are two different engine sizes . The GPR engine is a physically bigger engine and heavier too .

Ok , the GP1200 65U engine is 120mm from centre of crankshaft to the reed mounting surface. The manifold is 110mm wider again plus the carbs stick out another 15mm from the manifold. So 225mm from the centre of the crankshaft to the side of the carbs . Hope this helps . The 66V engine has 78 mm stroke , 10 mm longer than the 65U engine so it is wider than the 65U 68mm stroke and being side draft would restrict the air flow too .

Thanks for the info, when I said intake I meant for the jet pump. I purchased a complete pump for a 99 gp 1200.

Okay totally different things. A GP1200 and XL1200 NON power valve have the same jetpumps . The GPR and XLT1200 have a part of the intake moulded into the hull .
