New to me msx110 throttle issue

    No throttle control

So I have exhausted reading the forms about Webber throttle issues. My msx110 starts and idles like a dream in and out of the water. No check engine light. I can watch the etb do its thing when running, opening and closing to maintain rpm, however I have no throttle input. I think that the etb part is fine but not 100% sure. So that leads to ppu I guess? Or the ppu interface. I did the relearn procedure and the throttle plate pulls closed like it should.

My question is that, is there a way to test the PPU module? I found a ppu part online but itís hard to pull the trigger without knowing that is the problem. Could it be the PPU interface module? ECU?

To to add to the confusion, sometimes throttle input will move the butterfly when not running but awake, 10% ish but never fully.

Help save me from throwing parts at it and wasting money. Digital wrench is not an option or canít find in my area.

Anyone have a PPU for sale?

To help anyone in the future and what I did is search for part 8200139460 online. It’s off of a Renault and the same part but more commonly available and a helluva lot cheaper.

Your PPU isnt necessarily bad. They commonly have this issue simply from light corrosion on the contacts in the connector. Remove the harness from the sensor and try cleaning the contacts with some light sandpaper.

Any type of abrasive cleaning of contacts will remove the plating and then the problem will become more frequent. If the pins/receptacles are corroded, just replace them.

The one thing you may may notice is a higher idle than the stock 1550. The idle on some of these also seems to jump around a bit and “hunt.” However, they seem good and reliable and I actually like that higher idle for no wake zones!
