    2015 Ultra SE Down . . .

At 17 Hours, Looks like my 2015 Ultra SE is down. When I got back to the Dock, the Air Box was filled with Oil (maybe 2 Qts), there was "zero" Oil on the Dipstick. And the visible Oil in the engine looked dirty (after removing the Oil Filler Cap).

My clue was I could smell the Oil as I was on my ride . . .

It looks like a Piston issue based on prior Posts I have read here. Is the solution still retro fitting with the 300 Pistons? Thank you. JB

Hope you've got the extended warranty.

Yes, this Ski has the extended WARR. I bought this Ski in 2017; so the WARR is still in effect. JB

WOW,,, 17 hrs... that sucks John ! This is exactly why i get a new Ultra before the end of my 5 year warranty...

Yes it sucks! The "good news" is the other 2 Ultras are running well.

To be honest, in the back of mind I thought that this could happen. A few months ago Double Tap had posted his Piston woes with his 2015 . . . and from what I could tell he didn't do anything wrong with Fuel choice / post ride care.

I was just lucky I was able to get back to the Trailer while the Ski was still running. Earlier in the day I was riding by myself in a very remote / desolate area in Lake Mead; it's a huge lake. In hindsight I think I was very close to the scenario of having to spend the night on that thing. That would not have been fun! JB

Exactly same thing happened to me @ 98hrs on my 2016 310R... Piston number 4 had cracked between the rings

Do yourself a big favor.....buy some good quality forged pistons....have the dealer install them.....
I did this....ending all of my piston problems!

If someone still has their failed piston, I would love to take a look at one and get it checked over by the materials lab at my office. Pm me to let me know and we can work something out.
