    Resonator removal?

Anyone tried running their MSX140 with the resonator removed and bypassed?

Wondering how much it affects noise level and performance.

It will only increase noise and annoy your neighborhood. Don't do it.

Resonators are garbage and just give another place for exhaust leaks but wait till one starts to leak then delete those, I just removed them out of a Genesis, it sounds liek a 1200 now!

In absence of something like a backfire that damages them, the resonators are generally quite reliable, they do a fine job diminishing the exhaust note, and do not impair performance in the least. Increasing noise without performance gain is for kids.

No water in the exhaust, obviously.
