You could try swapping the black white wires to the coil to see if the problem moves from one cylinder to the other. If that were the case, the CDI would be suspect. I'd be more inclined to think you have a bad coil/wire or a hall effect sensor issue than a bad CDI. Usually when a CDI fails, it's a hard failure.

Alrighty sorry for the delay. I finally got out to test the ski. I switched the black white wires on the coil, and it had the same problem, only running on the front cylinder. Next up is the Hall effect testing. My grey to black should be infinite, and it is. My red to grey should be infinite and it is. My green to grey should be infinite and it is not, was bouncing around but reading about 350. My brown to grey should have been 100,000 and it was reading around 150. Where can I go from here :/?

Hey so looking like Hall effect sensor like you were thinking. Is that part of the stator or separate? How do I order one and are they hard to replace? Thanks -Matt

Yes, the hall sensor is part of the stator, on the front of the engine.

Take a close look to see if the wires are rubbing against a piece of metal. You would get readings like that.
UNder the stotor cover and flywheel, there is a bracket that holds the wires away from flywheel. Those can rub the wires.

I checked the wires all the way from stator to box and they seem okay. Are all in a black casing and there doesn’t appear to be any imperfections. My wire is run along the top of stator then goes under air box, maybe it was moved at some point? But seems okay. Think I should replace stator or is there something simpler I can try?

With the readings you reported, the stator needs to be replaced. Inspect stator when disassembling.

Oh one last question. In this updated ignition setup, is the stator the same as the original?
