"good to go" in my social circles.

Reality is : you've got varying degrees of advice here, from varying degrees of technical professionalism, what's at stake ($$), level of acceptable risk, name-sake, level of effort, life of ownership. Sprinkle-in some OCD and a few "I don't give a's" ... and well, I don't see you getting a consensus here (if that's what you're looking for).
Sure, the old "I'd tear it down if it were me" rolls off the tongue quite easy when it's not them doing it. Or maybe they want $$ to tear it down for you.

If you want to be 100% absolutely sure - there's only one answer = tear it completely down. And that's the mindset I'd be in. HOWEVER, if I started getting into it and early-on see a story unfolding where it really isn't as widely contaminated as initially thought, I'd also be inclined to weigh the above variables into my decision-making equation on going any deeper into a full tear-down. But that's just me.

There is no filter bypass on these engines, contrary to the very nice video that shows the oil flow in a 4tec

Oil pressure test was @ 5lbs idle and 25 to 30 @ 4000 rpm not sure if this would cause bypassing of the filter.

So looking at the pic, it doesn't look all that cake'd-up, which means there's a good chance it didn't go into bypass, thus oil ports and galleys *should* be lint-free. Therefore, yah, I'd pull the engine and clean both screen as suggested, new oil, new filter - g2g - AND re-check the filter shortly thereafter to assess.

Never seen the bypass on the motor itself... more like inside the filter. Depending on brand, most incorporate a pressure-relief bypass - hince better to get dirty oil than no oil philosophy.

To tear down or not I'm leaning to tear down. That way it will be legit. PITA
