Chicago Air show coming up, viewing by jetski, Lake Michigan, Gary AIrport

I have never been to an air show, anyone have any experience seeing the show on a jet ski? In older photos, I can see boats in the water, but didn't notice any presence of jet skis.

The planes will be based in Gary and the show will be in Chicago. It would be nice to find a public boat ramp near Gary and ride between Gary and Chicago during the show(or practice flights) which would be a great experience.

I live 7 hours away and just not familiar with the area. I'm thinking of mainly, riding Friday, to catch, air show practice runs, while, not likely riding on sat or sunday, just due to big waves and high traffic on the water. Anyone have any thoughts on the matter?

In VA, I stayed in a state park, which provided camping and a boat ramp all in one place, which was very convenient. It would be nice to find something similiar near Gary Airport, if it exists.

In my experience, you'll want to align yourself with the runway, as the planes will be making "runs" back and forth in that direction.

I'll be launching at Calumet park. Always use this ramp to get ti navy pier and have done the air show by water many times. Good time
