Anyone use wheel spacers on their trailer?

I just converted from 12" tires to 13". Upgraded my springs, mounting hardware, fenders, etc. along the way.

Once I installed my tires I was pretty content....until I saw that they are rubbing on the inner fender. I have plenty of room on the outer fender.

    I went from 145/12s to 175/13s.

My thought is to install a 12mm wheel spacer and call it a day.

Sure, that's lots of contention about using wheel spacers, which is why I figured I'd see if anyone has done this before? Other than improper usage stories and unsupported theories about bearing wear, etc, I can't seem to find a problem with this, but I'm wary regardless.

when i replaced my tires they rubbed the torsion axle bar. i ended up buying some 1/4 inch spacers and they fit good and my lugnuts so far have stayed torqued.

I'd say just check lug nuts before each haul to make sure they are tight and ride on.

You may need to find some longer lugs.

Can't move the fenders in more than they are - they're fixed to the brackets attached to the leaf spring and are almost up against the frame.
I'm hoping the wheel studs will be long enough without having to replace them.

All of this was to upgrade from the 12's so I could have a proper tire that could roll at highway speeds. Naturally, as soon as I had started the project and purchased everything, I found 12" radial trailer tires with an E load rating and 81mph speed rating
