get an AGM battery (replace the OEM lead/acid battery) and the battery vent tube is obsolete/ not required

If installing an OEM battery, it goes to the battery's vent port. Purpose is/was to safely vent hydrogen excess gasses out side the hull.
If installing an AGM (aka sealed) batt {as the poster above}, you can plug it, kink it, abandon, or remove it. Not needed.
