2001 SLH, not charging and trim doesn't work
As the title says, my 2001 SLH isn't charging consistently, and the trim does not appear to be functional now. It all worked last year, but now the trim switch doesn't do anything unless the bilge switch is held, and even then it isn't actually trimming the nozzle on the jet pump.
Am I looking at a failed LR module?
Oh, and I just remembered the tach isn't registering any revs for more than 2 seconds of run time.

The tach signal is used to turn on the LR. The trim is powered by bilge power,bilge switch bypasses the lr.
Measure stator windings from electrical box connections, inspect inline connecter and wiring really well.

I checked the resistance of the stator coils, but did not do the hall effect sensor tests. Everything there seemed to be within specs. I would have thought that since it runs, it would be unlikely that the stator is bad.

The red/pur to yellow ohm test is the charging part of the stator.
Should have a strong 12v on the yellow wire going into the LR. Use a test light so the wiring is under a load.

Load test that circuit with engine off. If it passes, check voltage while running.

This is probably a stupid question, but what do you mean by load test the circuit? Are you saying to run the bilge pump while checking?

Use a test light with a buld, not LED.
Or use a small automotive bulb. Using something that uses an amp or 2 will load the circuit,of there is a loose or corroded connection, it will show up..The SLH has an inline connecter-the terminlas/pins sometimes have trouble.
