GTI handlebar removal
Hey, back story is that my 2011 GTI SE 130 has a lot of steering column play and it makes me uncomfortable so I started doing some research and it appears the two wear rings on the steering column are likely bad and need to be replaced. I'm currently trying to pull the steering column to access the rings. I found a post regarding this process on the spark but it looks like the GTI is a bit different. I have removed the handlebar cover and pad but I don't see any screws securing the handlebars in place. Thanks in advance!

Remove the mirrors, then the 2 10mm hex head bolts holding the steering column in. Then it will pull straight out and you can change the rings. No need to remove the pad.

Thank you, I was able to gain access to column. Of course it turns out the column is cracked as well. It's broken where the column meets the support assembly. Fortunately it's opposite the side that has the steering cable, so I'm going to pull the column replace the rings and attempt to epoxy the column. I appreciate the fast response.
