    Modifying NA Machines

    Silly questions time....

If someone were to dump all the standard available mods into a machine like a VXR...no turbo or no SC....what you typically spend on parts and how fast would the machine go?

Thinking, tune, ride place, impeller, exhaust, intake mods...the works. $3500? Would hook better and hit what...68/66 mph?

For 15+ vxr, ride plate, ribbon delete and intake is about $600. I can do between 67-69mph with just that. After that, you won't gain that much with tune and impeller to justify the price in my opinion. Top loading grate will help with handling but won't add any speed, if not decrease it a little bit. Everything else would be pretty much cosmetic mods.

The pre 15 vxrs can get a bit faster but don't handle as well.

way too much, should have bought a GP1800. Don't do the exhaust, unless you're rich and bored. Even with sponsons, you should be under $2000

You might find some of these answers in Kevin Shaw's article :

Heavy Breathing : pushing an NA to SC speeds

Long-story-short, they went from 63 to 66.5 for $1.2K. Caveats: this was back in 2014 prices/mods, and this was an FX. The kick-in-the-crotch was realizing a SHO price-point was at $1.3K.
Pretty sure one could revise this article with today's pricing/mods.

Hey guys I think spending money on an NA is a waste and I would never do it. Jut trying to get a few data points on what it would take.

I have no clue how anyone is hitting 67 or 69 on a N/A with no tune or prop. I've done all the basic mods and no where close to that.

Altitude plays a factor. Don't know where you are at, but the higher elevation will slow you down as well as air and water temps.
