Question Jet Pump Compatibility Question - 97 SLTX 1050 engine into 96 SLT 780?

Hi everyone, my first post here. I bought 2 skis over the winter for dirt cheap (1996 Polaris SLT 780 and 1996 Yamaha WaveRaider 760) and expected one of them to be toast. The WaveRaider 760 had blown straight through the crankcase, that motor is replaced, running and ready to go.

On to the Polaris, which I was assured was in great running shape (yeah right).

First got it and compression tested at 120,120,70. I figured it wasn't long for the world but we wanted to ride it first. Engine's toast. Inside the #3 cylinder it was wrecked, down to 50 on the compression test 120 front, 100 middle now).

The real question is, I was about to order a new remanufactured motor for the Polaris as well, but I just saw a 1997 Polaris SLTX 1050 for sale near me and the owner claims the engine is great but the jet pump is bad. Only wants $350. That's less than half the cost of a replacement 780.

Would the 1050 bolt into the 96 SLT and match up with the 96 SLT 780 jet pump?

Thanks for any advice you can provide! I attached a few photos of the toast cylinder 3 for your cringes.

The hulls I'm pretty sure are near identical. Not sure if ALL the mounting holes are present for both of them.
Yes, it does match up with the jet pump, they also use the same drive shaft. Different engine sizes/horse power need different impellers inside the pump, but that will swap from pump to pump.

Thanks for the reply casey! The SLTX I was going to source sold really quickly. Probably because a good functioning 1050 for only $350 bucks is a crazy good deal. Looks like I'm going a more standard route.
