    2019 fx cruiser ho

I have a 2015 yamaha vx, I ride with my wife and 8 yo son and when we go into choppy water it is not very stable was wondering if the new FX handles the choppy water better and would it be worth the upgrade. The reason I am asking is because I was told there is not a huge difference.

Somewhere around here is the K447 sticky post that discusses the 2019 FX models. That's how I made my final decision. That and the maintenance between Seadoo and Yamaha. My 19 FX SVHO is going for the 10 hours oil change at the dealer in about 45 minutes. I'm sure others will chime in more knowledgeable then I.

The FX hull has always been considered Yamaha’s best hull for water that is not smooth.

The prior generation FX hull was good, and the new-for-2019 FX hull is apparently even better. I have not yet ridden the new 2019 FX myself, but early reports from others are encouraging.

Is your current 2015 VX of the new-for-2015 hull design or one of the VX hull models that continued on with the prior generation VX hull into 2015?

Well I am glad it is not a boat, don't want a money pit.

I've got an FXHO and ride in pretty choppy water. I've also been told that the 2019 models handle the chop even better. Am interested if K4447 rides one and posts up!

Had 2012 VX and 2013 VXR. Both of these handle the chop worse than your 2015. We ride in lake Erie and see chop very seldom. Good day is 1-2 footers. Also ride in 3-6 footers. Thus the reason for now having a 2018 and 2019 FXHO which are so much better. The 2019 takes the rough a little better than the 2018. The big difference is the handling/control in the rough which is so much better. It's more glued to the water than dancing on it. When you turn the 2019, it will lean and cut into the turn as if being on rails. The turn feels more like being on a motorcycle. The 2018 is a flatter turn or use the trim to pivot more on the front or rear. As far as some call tippy, I can stand, 185lbs, on one side and it remains fairly level in the water. So if your chop is 1 foot or less, you won't even feel it. Sorry I can't make a direct comparison to your 2015. Never rode one.
