anyone ever cut open a DESS post?

1996 Seadoo GTX will not crank/start unless i bang on the DESS post with a screwdriver handle then it will fire right up and run.

has anyone ever cut open a DESS post or can link what it looks like inside it? is there anyway to lube the insides? i've read it has a magnet inside it that sticks?

is changing it the only way to correct problem? if i change it do i have to reprogram key?

Its a reed switch and not repairable unless you replace the reed switch.
