    Lanyard key thickness?

I ordered a replacement on Amazon that says it is OEM but the key seems like it is almost twice as thick as the one that came with my VX? Are they different sizes? It seems like it would almost break my switch if I force it in there.

The lanyard you received may not be a genuine Yamaha product. Counterfeits exist, for many, many products.

I donít know whether the Yamaha boat or outboard lanyards are the same thickness as the Waverunner lanyard?

The Yamaha and Kawasaki lanyard clips look very similar, but are different thicknesses. You can pick up a generic lanyard at most any marine/power sports dealer that will fit Yamaha, Kawasaki, and SeaDoo.

Yep looks identical but the outboard lanyard doesn’t have the neoprene wrist strap only a stainless clip, ideal for attaching to PFD...

I used a flat file to make my purchased, non-OEM lanyard fit my VX. It was too thick as purchased.
Made it thinner along with a slight mod on how it connects and disconnects. I didn't want it hard
to disconnect, nor did I want it to "fall" off
