    Aluminum/bronze pump housing corrosion cleaning?

I'm rebuilding the pump housing on a 1994 GTX that I'm selling to a friend. I've gotten it stripped down, but the corrosion on this thing is crazy. I was told it's been in Michigan it's whole life, but I'm wondering if it didn't see salt water at some point in time.
Is there a tried method to cleaning these? sanding down the mating surfaces is easy enough, but I'd like to get all the oxidation off. Would an automotive transmission cleaning cabinet do the trick?

I would say bead blasting would be the best bet. I have done motorcycle parts in the past with good results. Most car spray painters should be able to do it for you.

It'd have to be with something really mild, like walnut shell. Could be an option..

Fine glass beads will clean it nicely w/o changing dimensions of part. Walnut shell or plastic media will not get all the corrosion. RR
