Thread: Best air filter

    Best air filter

I have a 2004 seadoo gtx supercharged and I'm looking to do the 4 inch intake custom but was wondering if I'm better off using an oiled filter to help keep water out or does it not matter? Also is it a big difference between running a 90 pipe off supercharger to filter over running the kanaflex to above the gas tank? Thanks for the help

No filter really ( they are restrictive). Watercraft have no filter From the factory , as there is no dirt on the water.

However a flame arrestor type screen would be best to keep any loose debris out of the SC. Basically a non restricted screen / mesh type would be better

no filter from the factory???? Very Bad Answer. Intake manifold has filter built into it that is why the make a IMUK for seadoo to remove the filter and run a better flowing setup. dont give bad info to people

There is no filter it's metal mesh flame arrestor as stated from the first person. Honda is the only one that I know of that actually uses a filter.

Bad answer? There is no air filter on seadoo's. The "filter" that's in the intake manifold isn't actually a filter.

Correct ,it’s a factory flame arrester, that is very restrictive.

He has on 04’ GTX , which had NO flame arrestor if it was a 215hp, due to the internal IC. If it was after 08’ 255+Hp , or a 155 & under Hp motor it would have the internal flame arrestor.

04 GTX was a 185 no intercooler so it has the flame arrestor in intake
