    FX Front Access Door Removal?

    Hey guys,

I need to adjust the front component of my steering alignment on my '11 fz. I read on another thread that the best way to get to it is through the "front access door" which I understand is the "white" door pictured below.

My Questions; How the hell does it come off?

People just say "remove it", not how to remove it. It looks like there are some white plastic rivets holding it on that don't seem to "pop" off when i apply a generous and nervous amount of pressure.

6mm bolt or a pencil use it to gently push the pin through one notch each clip (you will loose a couple) then pull the outer towards you

Push on the center circle and then pull out, or just pull until they pop out (quite a bit of forcer). I broke 3/5 of mine this winter trying to remove them, and replaced them with some GM body panel mount pins I picked up from the local auto zone. They are not as tight of a fit, but it is a lot easier now if I need to remove the front piece.

The pin push distance is maybe a few mm, not far at all. There will be a little click as the pin moves farther in, then the whole fastener becomes loose and easily removed.

Pushing the pin too far in will cause it to fall out the back and the go hide under the gas tank.

They find their own way to the back of the ski eventually a bucket of soapy water helps move them along......

They go brittle and crack so worth ordering a couple next time your ordering parts from a dealer...

You guys are awesome, thank you.

Just for clarification, am I pressing the front of it from the front hatch towards the stern or do I have to reach in front of the engine to push it forward towards the bow?

Press the center pin in from the front storage compartment. Once you get the first one to work, you will see how easy these plastic pins are to operate.

Just press slow and easy until it clicks inwards a couple of mm.
