No Spark on SL700 and SLT780

In short: I have a 1996 SL700 and 1996 SLT780. No spark on either ski.

Details: Pulled both skis out of indoor storage to get ready for the season. Put into storage working last season.

Tested batteries and both were dead and not salvageable so I bought brand new
Duralast Gold ETX16L and ETX16 Batteries. Spec location - https://www.autozone.com/miscellaneo...rchText=ETX16L

Cleaned carbs, fuel lines, drained tanks, new plugs and fresh fuel and oil.

Attached the lanyard and attempted to start both and both turned over but neither started. Batteries read 12.99 volts without crank and 12.05 while cranking. This is on the SLT780 but both are similar numbers and results.

Pulled plugs to test for spark and no spark on any plug on both skis.

The only change that seems to matter between last season and this season is the new batteries but they seemed to read correctly.

I'm think this is going to be embracing, as in, I'm forgetting to flip a switch somewhere.

If you can help and it is simply, I give you full permission to out me to the entire community in any harsh, foul or profane way you wish. FYI - I am new to jet skis and the troubleshooting the mechanics.

Since both skis are missing spark but cranking, it would be easy to assume the problem cause is common to both.

I suggest diagnosing each machine as if you did not have the other. It is possible that each machine has a problem that is caused by a different thing.

Does each machine have a working MFD display?

The SLT780 does not show any display and this SL700 was the ski with that option so no display.

Could it be that the battery could read correctly but still be the issue?

Are you sure you have the battery polarity correct?

And NEVER had a battery hooked up backwards?
