The Styrofoam inside the Hull
what are the FACTS behind it.... necessary or not? technically "floatation" ?? does it help the ski float, or only keep it afloat IF the ski were to sink or take on water?
9 times outta 10, the crap is in the way for me with these mods and I'm about ready to remove every friggen piece of styrofoam out of the hull.
this styrofoam can be hind in the back of the hull near the thru-hull outlet, along the side of the engine against the hull walls
Can someone convince me otherwise, but i just DON'T KNOW the facts

Me, personally, never wanted to dive to put a rope on my ski to get it to shore. And the foam hopefully will keep the boat high enough in the water to keep water out of the crankcase. Oh, foam does't weigh much

weight had nothing to doo with my foam removal. i needed the space the foam and the second mid deck took up.so it had to all come out. yup my motormounts are glassed to the main hull.
it seams shibby only wants to remove a few small areas to make room for speed goodies.
doo it. its not going to hurt ya, just dont get too crazy
if you were ever to take on that much water your motor still would be completely under anyway. only the top and bar would bob outa the water.
basicly just enough from keeping it off the bottom of the lake - but everything still would be toast.
been there- done that.

A ski full of water won't really float, it just won't sink.
Usually it stays nose up, about out foot of it out of the water.

Sounds like 11 has hands on experience on how to do it RIGHT and shibby your learning way too quick. Just don't leave cash in it or you'll be getting diving lessons and learning about nitrox, They'll never pay off on cash lost
