I intend to rig up something similar with a rear deck mounted 12US gallon Moeller low profile fuel tank.

Looking for details on various methods for routing the transfer hose.
And how the hose aspects are managed when the external tank is removed?

hardest (scary) part is drilling thru the rear handle / hull section - it will never show - I used 3/8 quick connects to tank and line - to tie it to the tank - just cut the oem vent line just above the fitting - slide the 3/8 line over it - and zip tie it. use an oetiker clamp or stainless worm clamp - if you prefer - the original fuel vent had a zip tie -you can either just put another fitting at the tank side if you you remove the tank for a vent. An empty tank weighs nothing BTW. Once you have it place and get use to it -

    Good luck

You are connecting one rubber fuel hose to another right above the main fuel tank, without a joiner, and using a zip tie to hold the two hoses together? And these hoses are flowing liquid gasoline inside the hull?

I know some 2-stroke guys are OK with using zip ties on fuel hoses for carburetors and such. I have never trusted nylon zip ties for anything in a fuel system.

Thanks, I wasn’t knocking anybody I was just curious. I too like cruising and being able to go the distance but couldn’t imagine having to carry all that fuel and having fun.
