2019 FX dash / touchscreen question

Is there a way to turn on the touchscreen display without starting (or attempting to start) the engine? I see several demos and the ski is out of the water and the engine is not running while the operator is navigating through the menus. I tried touching the screen but that doesn't work.

Just press the start button lightly then the display will turn on. hold down the start button to start the engine.

Is the lanyard clipped in when doing this to your suggestion? If so, then it is basically trying to start the engine which is what I'm trying to avoid.

2019 FX's start differently that models past. You don't have to hold down the start button to start the engine. You only need to press and release the button and starter will stay engaged until the engine starts.

I know the gp1800r is different but if I want to see info on my screen I use the remote and hit the unlock button and the screen turns on

This is perfect for my 2017 FX. I never thought about using the remote control.

Lanyard in - press start once. This is accessory mode.

The second time you push start is when it starts.

    I’ve done this MANY times.

Thank for the help everyone. Hey one more question:
How do you set the PIN on the touchscreen? I tried a few times to lock the ski or set the drive control.
Sorry to ask these questions. I bought this nearly new 2019 FX SVHO but didnt receive the owners manual, just the riders guide which is useless.
