    Oil Change Help

Just did my first oil change on my '18 spark. Has about 70 hours on it, but I'm a bit confused. I filled the little container up, But I'm not sure how much it needs, do I fill it right up? Or is the mid way point good. I attached some pictures for reference.

Thanks for all the help! Happy Riding!

Hi, TLB4 - I always measure (as precisely as I can) how much I took OUT and then put as close to exactly that same amount back IN.

(I may add an ounce or two or however many I guesstimate was left remaining inside the filter I changed at same time , depending upon filter size, enegine make and type and size, etc.)

But, from what I understand, being a little low is better than having too much oil (overfilled) inside the engine.

    Do you have your Manual?

If not, here is a link to mine (2019) and, on page 95 it covers oil change, refilling and checking oil level, etc.: http://www.operatorsguides.brp.com/O...9/219975EN.pdf

Your right, that sure looks like the coolant tank with overflow hose! If your adding oil to that, well, not good
Your going to need to drain, clean and reclean the cooling system and refil. And redo your oil change.
Fixing this is probably going to require a lot of work.
I see an expensive dealer visit in yout future!

Yeah, I'm just fucking with you all. My spark blew up last weekend. Badly. Middle connecting rod came through the side of the block, and took out the starter on the way by. My entire coolant bottle was perfectly mixed with 50% coolant, 50% oil. That's just what I can see by taking the top off, looking for a new engine now.

BRP has told me that my 2 year warranty doesn't apply because I tampered with the ski adding speakers and a bilge pump, so that's pretty neat. Around 72 hours on the ski, 10ish this year so far.
Anyways, here are a couple pictures to enjoy. I'll be taking the engine apart in a couple weeks to find out what actually happened. I'll update this post when I do.

Anyone else who had something like this happen let me know.

What an assclown! By the way, had a friend who's wife actually did that shit to her car once. Checked the oil, was a little low so decided to add some. After pouring a couple quarts into the radiator decided to call husband when it wasn't making any difference on the stick. RR

Your best warranty should cover the engine unless you had a tune in the ecu because speakers and a pump got nothing to do with a Conrod, I call that horse crap.

agree they should honour the warranty - nothing you did involves the engine at all.
unless you have after market performance parts they really need to honour it
