    It's in the 90 fitting exiting the pump. Ypu can look into the hole with the cover off and see the spring. Aslo, the oring that shows in the part diagram is prob the oring that seals the discharge port to the cover.

    i do see the spring but I don’t understand the “90degree fitting” part. The o ring is in good shape and I do see the spring inside.

    That spring is inside the fitting/nipple/outlet. It comes out of the pump and make a 90 degree bend.
