Good mornin’ Steve and, thanks for the reply.

I was asking genuinely in my effort to have / habit of keeping oil, filters and plugs on the shelf ahead of needing them, for preventative and end-of-season maintenance, etc. and attempting to snap up some of the Kawasaki oem “maintenance kits”

The first difference I discovered were the plugs (the 2019 SXR using NGK CR9EKB and the older 15f’s apparently using CR9EK’s that latter of which I think have the screw on / off caps on the top of the plug). I wound up buying a dozen or so of the NGK CR9EKB’s and that leaves me needing the correct oil and oil filters for my 2019 SXR.

There are no Kawasaki oem “maintenance kits” for the 2017-19 SXR’s yet (that I’ve been able to find) so, I was hoping I could snag a Kawasaki oem “maintenance kit” for a certain year range of the 15f’s and be set.

I am pretty sure I can just buy some K&N KN-204 oil filters and be set as far as my need for oil filters goes but, 2 things: first, I would prefer to use OEM kawasaki oil filter replacement for at least the first oil change (which I’ll do at 10-hours out of habit with just about all my engines) so I don’t risk the stink eye from the dealer or Kawasaki if I ever do have a warranty issue AND, secondly, it seems buying the necessary (four?) quarts of oil AND oil filter together are cheaper than just buying quarts (or gallon jugs) of Kawasaki oil.

I am not married to using motor oil that has “Kawasaki” on the label, as long as there is another that is 100% “correct” for my engine ...

I ASSumed the engine in the 2017-19 SXR is the same as that in the 15f’s but, is that similarity limited to just the 2017-19 15f’s?

Thanks in advance, I TRULY APPRECIATE THE EXPERIENCE some of y’all have earned , (the hard way!)

I was just going by the part numbers, but you may be correct about the spark plug terminals.

Kawasaki doesn't make oil, they just have somebody else package it for them. Just use an oil that meets the specs in the manual.
