My ski is currently at the dealer for trailer issues not ski. I did mention to the dealer about the fuel issue cause mine does it to.

I was told that they did get s response from yamaha and that yamaha is aware of the problem but there is no solution at this time.

Once i get my ski back i will pull that check valve and do what others have done in bending the float arm.

I hope Yamaha has a recall for this. It’s annoying as hell. Mine is away for the winter but in the spring, I am addressing it for sure. Since I have not messed with this yet, does the tank need to be full or empty when changing the float?

Less fuel makes it easier... less messy.

I bent mine and did some semi scientific testing afterwards. The gauge reads more accurately with the tank low now... but with 13.8 gallons in it (3/4 full) gauge was already reading very near full and 95%...

Vman - a couple of questions - Can you indicate where and how you bent the rod? Also was the 95% reading at 3/4 full before or after the fix? Do you have the rollover valve still in place?

Just a quick sketch (not scale), but You can see I bent in 2 places to get 20* and keep the float flat with the bottom of the tank. 95% was after the bending filled with 13.8 gallons. I left the rollover valve in place... couldn't find enough info to the support the benefits of it's removal- but I'm open to suggestions. I completely emptied the tank dry, then filled by 1/4 increments (4.6 gallons). Seemed like it read more accurately up to 1/2 tank. Read full (or almost full) when 3/4 full though. Really have to test on water and that won't happen til spring, so...

Thanks Vman. Dropped my ski off at the dealership to see what they know about the issue. If it comes back without a fix, I'm going to try this.
