My RXT-X 260 build or recondition

Well after a lot of work and a lot of help from Bob on this site I finally got my ski up and running. After getting a rag stuck in the motor and
Sawzalling out the drive shaft things went pretty smoothly. I also tried my hand on repairing all the chips and scuffs in the gelcoat. THANK YOU TOMMYGUNNER!!!

Thanks for the kind words Dave. Truth be known, you did the hard work cutting the DS and removing the flame arrestor, and later installing a new steering wear ring, Fizzle Intercooler, and strainer without any assistance from me. You did a good job of it too! And, you now know not to stick a rag in the S/Cer hole...use duct tape next time.

We pulled engine: We removed the PTO cover to remove chucks of rag that got hung up on the flywheel teeth and removed the oil pump screen. We cleaned everything up. We also replaced the FW bolts with ARPs. With a new gasket, we buttoned it up adding a new PTO bearing/seal. Reinstalled engine. Unfortunately, we did not have the alignment tools for a 2010 TX. However, we did check the free length movement of the DS; 3/8". With a new hat and bellows (with 2 o-rings), we greased up & installed the new DS (with a new C clip), and pump (w/stock impeller). Installed the GH rebuilt S/Cer, adding the DIY kanaflex air intake w/KN air filter.

Dave launched the ski. We checked for any water leaks...none. Engine started in the usual manner, idled for warm up, went cruising. Dave quickly realized the ski was not running properly. Recovered ski. We changed fuel injectors, the MAT and MAP sensors, relaunched the ski. After warm up, I could hear Dave screaming like a little girl as he went ripping across the lake. Success!

Things to do: ski needs a proper DS alignment. 3/8" DS forward/rearward movement is at the edge.
    8350 reflash, Solas impeller.

Thanks for the laughs, food, and beer , Dave. You're a good and funny guy. Oh, and thank you for your service to our country. Semper Fi!

So I want to update this the best I can. My laptop is down at the moment so I have to do this by phone . But me and Bob have been doing quite a bit of work to my ski since the last post and I fabed up speaker pods and have done a bunch of electronic upgrades to the ski.

I blew a headgasket over the summer with my impeller and tune not being where they should be. Even though I was running exactly what riva said for a tune ,impeller and nozzle for this ski. So now I have the updated 300 headgasket its a much more durable gasket I highly recommend. I also updated the springs and retainers with the super tech ones.
I have my tune set to 8600rpm for now still need to dial in the impeller and nozzle. Bob also did a trick and retarded the timing a little I can’t remember why but he knows more than me lol. I also got the 2010 alignment tools and did the alignment properly. I have the 300 hat, carbon seal, and Rubber bands on the bellows also. Right now I’m just waiting on a damn oeiker clamp to put my new pto bearing on cause mine was leaking oil all over the hull. Sad part is we just cleaned it and this happened lol. It took me months to fabricate the stereo system I have another thread for that so I’m just going to focus on the engine and just update the look and where I’m at with this baby.
