    97 SLT780 build begins

No pics yet, but lining up components for this build.

    SBT rebuilt crank
    SBT rebuilt jugs (all three)
    Watcon carb kits
The rest I should have on site.

    This will make 4 running skis (3) 96 SLT780s and (1) 97 SLT780.

I have another 96 I could also build, but it would just sit on a trailer and I don't currently ride on other lakes/rivers.

It has a round MFD, I thought those were OLDER not NEWER?

Yep, you were bit by the bug pretty bad.

I don't recall ever seeing a round MFD after 96??? Seems odd

I just checked the manual and none of the three person 97 skis had MFDs.

Must be user add-on. If it works it can stay, otherwise I'll put an oval in the handlebar pad.

I checked ski #6 over a bit tonight. Steering cable is locked as is the reverse cable. I think I will probably scavenge her for working parts and take the hull to scrap. There's a n00b here with a 96 SLT780 I will wait on him needing anything before it goes to the boneyard.

    We can't save them all.

    Thanks!

Maybe it’s my turn to ask something completely irrelevant in this thread.

Probably mis stamped and packaged wrong. Guessing the ckearance would be ok if you stuck those in a std bore cylinder.

I sent them an email and will call Tuesday.

5x the nominal gap got my attention.
