What are the real costs of buying & owning a jet ski?

We tried to collect and organize the most significant costs:

I buy a new ski every 5 years... depreciation averages around $15 an hour of engine run time... then factor in fuel and maintenance...

If it’s a question that must be asked, you can’t afford to buy one

I think depreciation is a LOT more than $15/hour. I've seen (and bought) 'Skis with less than 20 hours for much less than $300 off.

Depreciation only matters if you sell it.

These things crap out so often, I'd never buy one used, unless it was cheap enough that I could rebuild the whole thing for a fraction of a new one.

Worthless cracked plastic and nuked engines. Actual cost??? Write off the entire value of the ski. These are the absolute worst investment out there. Worse than jeeps and moldy rv's.

Actual cost of operation? Ski and trailer loss of value or replacement cost every 7-10 years, parts, oil, fuel, tow vehicle fuel, camping, hotels, ramp fees, divided by hours on the water.......

Seems like about $210 per every hour the ski's engine is running. Ouch.

This is over a 10 year period when I have kept them 5 years then traded them in and the difference in what I had to pay for a new one came to about $15 an hour of engine run time on the ones I traded in.

Thank you for your valuable comments.

Please note that we just try to improve and develop our site based on real feedback.
We've already got some good tips for missing costs from several sources.

So we are developing a real and (we hope) useful site here,
not just a fake or useless website what is created for only online ads and no adding value at all.
If anyone has doubts please look into our rental locator or model browser/comparison tools:
    https://www.jetdrift.com/models/

Beyond the articles, we put great effort into these tools.
So we just try to do something good here.
