    DFW Area Skis

Who all is from DFW and what lake do you ride ?

Myself, I ride Lake Lavon and Ray Hubbard during the week and on weekends mostly. I do enjoy going to Grapevine but that's usually reserved for weekends.

I'm moving to Prosper this year and looking for lake info. I'll be close to Lewisville but heard its crazy busy on the weekends. Do either of you have any insight pro/cons of Lewisville lake?

Lake Lewisville is a big lake with lots of gigantic boats that hang out in party cove...lots of drunks and party girls there. the North end of the lake looks like a good place for exploration up the creeks. big waves out in the middle and if its calm and your hauling ass you may still come across a big set of waves from the yacht guys boats, I got thrown off at about 72 by a set. look at the lake on google earth.

Thats in line with what I'm hearing. Party cove is on southwest side of lake though correct? Not my scene but still looks like cool lake to explore.

How is Ray Roberts lake? More calm?

Lake Lewisville has to much traffic and never been calm for me, Ray Roberts has some very nice beaches and much better. Might also consider Lake Grapevine, I’ve enjoyed it many times on the weekends and been able to navigate without a bunch of traffic.

A cool but very big lake is Lake Texoma..It was made by damming up the Red River which separates Texas from Oklahoma. the lake has some very nice sand islands in the middle. very big lake with some very big waves if the wind picks up..ocean like waves.
