    Plumbing a second bilge

My boat is a 2012 FZ2 with the electric bilge which runs when the engine is running. I want to leave that bilge as is and install a second auto bilge so the boat is protected when at dock without the motor running. Has anyone done this? Can I just wye into the existing discharge line from the first bilge with check valves?

I would suggest the second bilge pump install be entirely separate from the first.
Independent water outlet, wiring to battery, inline fuse, etc.
