Removing the center plastic panel on Honda Aquatrax

Aloha. I am trying to take off my broken center panel at the steering area. Any idea how to take off the panel? Do I need to detach the steering piece first? I can’t seem to figure it out and I want to do it correctly so I don’t break the new plastic when I put the new one on.

Update: I figured out the solution. Pain in the ass but you have to take the steering shaft off to take of the center plastic

I was about to reply but you already figured it out. Yes it is a pain to get off. Have to disconnect wiring, remove steering shaft, etc etc etc. Glad you got it sorted!

Thanks for the info. I put some lubricant on the knobs and I’ll apply more pressure.
