Ultra 250x Supercharger pulley inspection & rust prevention - Am I going overboard?

    Hi guys,

Recently bought a 250x ultra 2 weeks ago and had been searching the site for bits and pieces. Found that the supercharger cover isn't necessarily needed so i completely removed it. (easier inspection of pulleys etc)

Upon inspection of the pulleys i found that it had gotten rusty.

Done some further investigating and decided to remove the whole pulley assembly and clean the rust off before it got worse. also inspect the bearings. I thought it was more surface rust but seemed a bit more than that. The bearings actually seem fine.

So to get rid of the rust I soaked the pulley and other parts in vinegar for a few hours and also left it over night for 8 hours. - i'm currently at work and parts are still currently soaking
    This is after 8 hours.

So when i get home the parts will have soaked for over 16hours total. keen to see what it looks like.

also manage to clean the block and area around the charger.

So once I clean all the rust off the pulley i was thinking coating the pulley in an appoxy coat. obviously not on the splines or dampner area. Im also going to be changing the bolts to stainless steel.

    Am i going a a bit overboard?

Since i've owned a ski i've always done cleaning and lubed areas with inox type spray after each ride. but with this ski the pulley being covered by the charger cover i couldn't see all the way in until now. Guessing the old owner couldn't get in there to coat it either.

Also is it worth replacing the pulley hub to a aftermarket "strengthened" hub? (what are the chances of it cracking?)
