    2019 GP1800R - Hull Strengthening Question

I have seen some threads on damage occurring to the hull around the intake grate on GP1800's and some threads on how to strengthen this area to try to prevent this from happening. I will be picking up pair of new 2019 GP1800R skis later this week. I want to ensure the best ownership experience I can by doing things that will help my skis stay healthy both mechanically and physically. So doing a few mods may be required and if I need to do this one I would like to do it early BEFORE any damage has a chance to occur. Does the hull need to be strengthened around the intake grate on a 2019 model GP1800R?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Nope. It’s been corrected from the factory on the 2019s. No need to reinforce anything

From what I understand the leaky transom plate has not been fixed yet. If I were buying a new ski....I would tilt the tongue all the way up on the trailer, take the seat off and fill the bilge with water...up to the intermediate housing. If it leaks ANY...it goes back to the dealer for repair. Check now....if you have to repair it later it's a PITA.
