2005 RXP Question. Are these metal washers or ceramic? See pics.

    First post.
    I recently purchased a 2005 rxp with 67 hours.
Tested it on the water before purchase and it ran fine.
Reading about all the issues with the ceramic washers in the 05 rxp superchargers had me worried so I removed the supercharger today.

I haven't been able to find pics of before and after with the ceramic washers and then with the metal washers.
    Are these ceramic or metal?

Also the impeller wheel appears to have a chip in it. See pics. I noticed a similar mark on a SC being rebuilt by SBT in a video. Is this really a chip? Or do they come like this?
    Thanks for any help.
    Cheers,
    Matt

I believe the "chip" your talking about is where it was machined to balance the wheel.

Those look like ceramics, rebuild it with an oem rebuild kit. I have seen those so called chips on lots of impellers so no need to replace, it's not actually a chip it's machined for a reason probably balancing like mentioned earlier.

Awesome. Was worried I'd have to screen for the pieces of "the chip" in the oil pumps and potentially bottom of the engine.
I'm planning on having it rebuilt for peace of mind thanks.

This thread explains a bit of the balancing sometimes done at the factory.

Those are definitely ceramic washers and the machined mark on the impeller is a balanceing mark. Nothing wrong with the impeller.

Those are definitely ceramic washers and that is not a chip on your impeller. It's how it's balanced. You're way overdue a rebuild. I will be happy to do it for you.
