    Another impeller thread

    I am currently running the 13/18 with a Lucky 13 cone on my Stage 3 2017 FX SVHO. I have the F1 wheel. I have seen a top speed of 88mph with that prop, but that was before the L13 cone, and the ski was spinning 9600 rpm's. With the cone, I'm in the 9200 range.

    What is the consenus on going with the 13/20 to lower rpm's and gain more speed? Is that likely, or would I possibly lose speed? I'm tired of buying parts, but if I had a chance at hitting 90, I would do it.

    There is a member on here that just installed a turbo on his FX and has the 13/20, and running 95. I know he is making more power than I am--I think he is running 26lbs of boost, whereas I am around 21. So I know it's not comparing apples to apples.

    i think its going to take the f2 wheel...with the 13/20 prop to go 90...u still have a fast ski with that f1

    13/18 seems to be the prop of choice, and I don't know that a 13/20 at 9200 rpm's will yield a different result than a 13/18 and L13 at 9200.

    just thinking about it, ur at 9600 at 88 to hit 90 ur going to need more power a f2 s/c wheel is the easiest way, and if ur going to spend it at 9600 r's u'll need to re pitch ur 13/18 to 13/18+1mm or 13/18+2mm. I don't know if you've re pitch that prop yet or not. not sure what ur going to get from the 13/20 at 9200 r's and L13. if u can get 90 with a 17 lb wheel u'll be rocking, but I think its going to take the f2 at 9200 r's. im going to run the 13/20 but at a much lower r's around 8500 with the L13 and 3 spacers, re pitch the prop to the r's I want. from what im hearing, u run the 13/18 if ur turning big r's and a 13/20 if ur keeping the r's down unless u have the power to turn the 13/20. correct me if im wrong. bottom line just go for it...

    If I try the 13/20, I won't use the L13, because the taller pitch should lower the rpm's.

    Just for clarification, right now I'm at 87 mph @9200. This is with the 13/18 and the L13 with all of the washers.

    Is that with the 87mm nozzle or the 85?

    I'm not sure what the stock size is for the 2017.

    I would take the cone off and pitch up a degree or so on the prop. Should keep rpm around 93-9400 and give you a little more boost to pull higher mph youíre looking for....I ran 90 at 9k rpm on my FZR with no cone and slightly pitched 13/18. Ran 95.5 at 9450 on 13/21. My FZ always liked the 93-9400 area for optimal pull and mph.

    I know you donít have an FZ but the concept is same.

    I noticed when installing my L13 that it is centered in the nozzle correctly with a 3 degree nozzle, and sits low in the nozzle on a stock 5 degree GP1800 nozzle. Anyone else notice this? I would think it would work best with the 3 degree. Might be a bit more efficient centered in the nozzle.

    my 2016 fx svho nozzle is 87mm stock. from my understanding for max speed with the L13 u use all the washers it comes with. it will drop ur r's. then u re pitch the prop to get your r's back, the mph should go up. I've seen this work on a ski like mine and thats what im going to do. but at 9200 r's ur in a different league than me so maybe this set up wont for for those r's building to much pump pressure...
