    1999 GTX 951 Electrical gremlins

Hi everyone - i have recently come across a 1999 GTX with 951 Carb engine that i am diagnosing some electrical issues in. With good battery and lanyard on post, there are no beeps and seemingly no response from the MPEM, here are the symptoms:
    1. As soon as battery installed, Guage cluster turned on and remained on (should turn off after approximately 30 seconds)
    2. Insterted lanyard (key) and machine did not react: no "beeps" and start button did nothing.
    3. Tested key "post" with ohm meeter: post tested in working order
    4. Attempted to place machine into self-diagnostic mode: was not successful, machine did not react. (no beeps after 5 presses of start button)
    5. Tested power and ground at MPEM (computer), both tested fine.
    6. Tested buzzer and found operational
    7. found several blown fuses in MPEM indicating short or jump-start, replaced with good fuses with no effect, but 5A MPEM fuse did not continue to blow.
    8. Found battery drain of 200mA

I feel like i have done a significant amount diagnosis to rule out pretty much everything but the MPEM. Any suggestions on anything else to try before ordering a new MPEM?

    thanks,
    Alex

Have you checked the condition of the rear ebox that houses the solenoid and coil?

I Have, and there is some moisture present. However, i have power and ground at the MPEM so i expect i should be getting some reaction even if i have issues in the rear ebox - am i mistaken? I can jump the solenoid and starter turns over fine.
