    2006 RXP Value

I am currently looking at getting back into a waverunner after about 5 years. I have found a 2006 RXP with about 50 hours on it. They are asking 5300 for it on a trailer. What would be a fair price to pay for it? I checked the NADA value, that came back at 4010 without the trailer, but im not too sure if that is an accurate value of it. Thanks in advance for the help.

06 was a mid year change, new ex valves from old. I would check the production date on the front of the motor above the motor mount to see when it was made. The 12-05 and up have the better ex valves.

Sounds high on the price.... but if it's mint condition it may not be...

I just paid $5000 for a 2006 Rxt to match my Rxp. 134 hours Jerry did the supercharger for the previous owner before I bought it so all in all a good buy to me. Cost is in the eye of the beholder. If its in good shape and the motor is at least built in 2006 you should be good to go. Still at very least rebuild the charger. Its the right thing to do. Good luck with the purchase. Its an awesome ski. Love mine, both of em.

Thanks for the answers. I was thinking about offering like 4700, that way I still have room to rebuild the supercharger and not be in it more then it’s worth

I would rely on that dating to verify the valves. The best route to take is to pop the valve cover and take a picture or a mirror and check the very top of the valve stem just under the rocker arm. Look for a 75. If you see a 72 those are the old valves. I have seen some later engines have older valves. Also there is no telling the history and the head could have been swapped out.

That sounds very reasonable. I just paid $4500 for an 06 RXP & trailer w/ 140 hrs. last august.

Yes if dated 06 it will have the better exhaust valves. I think the early model rxp and rxt PWC will hold their value quite well if taken care off. I have the later model rxt with the s3 hull and Ibr. I think I prefer the early models with less electronic stuff on it. Anyway that's my input on it. Hope you have fun on your new ride, sounds like a nice machine....
