Gtx 185 to 215, ecm questions

    Quick little intro:

Got a free blown up 185 S/C ski im going to rebuild for the fiance, so we can sell her 2stroke gtx. Now i have a lot of stock parts from my 215 RXT. Supercharger, fuel pressure regulator, etc etc.

I know what is needed to make this pretty much a 215, or beyond. I know the 03 185 ecm does not have a tune available. So since this engine will pretty much be a 215, maybe a little more with a fizzle IC, air intake, etc. Can i use a 215 ecm on this ski? Will another ecm work with the 03 1503 block and sensors?

The gauges on the gtx are shot. So if i need to buy a new set to match with another ecm, no biggie.

04 or 05 215 ecu will work on the 03 gtx. I had a 04 215 on my 03gtx and changed the gauges to either a 04 or 05. I also had a set of rxp pistons in it x charger with 3mm S/C fan, X I/C and all supporting parts it was a sleeper...lol. its been a few yrs since I had that ski. sold it when I bought the 07 rxt.

I have an 03 GTX sc that is set up as an 04 215. 05 + ECM will not work. Used 215 pistons and flywheel. Built engine as an 04 215. 127 ET wheel, rising rate, 42's, 4 inch air , external intercooler set up as an 08 RXT-X, VTS, 05 RXT driveline set up,08 exhaust, etc, etc. A nice quiet sleeper

Thank you all for the info. Next question. What year cylinder cases can i use? Any 1503? If were talking about using an 04 215 ECU, what year 1503 cases.

Any year, the later ones have the hole above the counterbalance shaft.

I think you meant to say 06+ ECM won't work. 04 and 05 are basically the same.

Also, your fuel pressure regulator needs to be updated to a 58 psi regulator from a 215 unit, or go with an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator such as the Riva
