    License questions

Is it 5 licenses for one map tuner? Are the licenses locked to the tuner that applies them?

    Almost time to order...

Doug, you can use an unlimited amount of licenses on a MaptunerX, meaning you can tune an unlimited amount of skis with it, just buy a tuning license for each ski that you tune. The tune is locked to the ski you tune, not to the MaptunerX

    Hope that helps!

Awesome! Not sure why I had that in my head. Thanks Jerry.

for the sake of accuracy, the tune is locked to the ECU's serial no. Just like Candoo Pro handles it.

I've advised my customers that if they plan on selling the tuned ski, they could pull the ecu, replace it and get back most of the cost of the tune by just reselling the ECU to an interested party

I purchased a used '12 FZR that has numerous upgrades. Pulled ECU and on the back, I found an R&D Engine Control Unit sticker with a serial #. New to 4 stroke PWC.

    1) Does this ECU have a RIVA Maptuner tune? If so:
    2) Would I be able to request what the last tune was that was loaded on the ECU?
    3) Can I purchase a Maptuner and use with current license purchased for this ECU?

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Welcome.

R&D was a different company, not related to Riva.
R&D closed their doors a few years ago.

You can continue to use the ECU and R&D tune as it is.

If you want to switch to the Riva MaptunerX tune system, you would be buying the entire Riva kit. MaptunerX device and a tune licence.

With Maptuner, you can download a copy of the stock tune in the event you need to flash back to OEM. Correct if I'm wrong, but he could save that R&D tune in the event he wanted to go back, right? I mention this only since the R&D folks are out of the equation at this point. Would suck if he liked the R&D and didn't save it first while he had the chance. If in fact that is possible.
