    Need insight/experience on prepping blaster1 for surf duty

    I know there has to be some threads or internet info, just am not finding it. I'm finally going to change up this 94 B1 from race/speed setup to surf/freeride. It's a bored 61x with single carb and Riva Red, waterbox, MSD, basics like that, runs great.

    So, for SURF FREERIDE;

    Any recommended hull upgrades like preferred ride plates, grates, etc.

    Any glass work inside the hull or other strengthening recommended?

    Do folks prefer the grippy seat covers that I'm so used to, or does a slicker seat surface help?

    Is a rear thru-hull exhaust not good for landing in surf, or no issues?

    Duckbills vs those ball check valve types?

    With stock 144 are there preferred pitch props?

    Is tilt nozzle of any use, or not worth it?

    i know it's alot to ask, but hoping to get a B-Load of opinions : )

    You will only need to reinforce the hull if you get some major air. For most surf/freeride jumping it will hold up just fine. I never was a fan of duckbills and always went with a big bilge pump like 800gph on an automatic waterwitch switch. https://waterwitchinc.com/product/mo...-bilge-switch/ (no moving parts to slam around and break in big surf) Some people like adding the foot straps, or the grippy seat cover to hang on better. It's all a matter of personal preference. It's been so long since I had mine I don't remember the rideplate, intake grate, prop combo, but there is info out there You might find more info on blasters and older skis at PWCtoday.com. Not worth trying to add a tilt nozzle unless you are trying to do backflips. If you are going extreme like that, you may want to add additional hood latches, or hood straps to keep it from popping open under extreme stress.

    Thanks! Liking the auto bilge switch. I'll search PWCtoday.com.
