Unhappy 2008 rxt x wieght loss

    Hi guys.
I have an rxtx 2008 with a 4 inch air intake, worx grate, stage 2 intercooler, reverse bucket mod, and solas 14/19 impeller with new wear ring. I raced my mate on his 2019 GTR 230 and i had him a little bit on the holeshot but he caught me on the top speed 110km/h. Im running at 8040rpm. his ski gets up on the plane alot faster than mine and i thought about removing the front bin and storage as i weighed it in at 18kg.. or any other suggestions??? thanks guys from down under.

I have thought the same thing in my 08 GTX but the bin really seals the front of the hull so you would have to make a replacement panel or something (assuming its the same)

If you really want to beat him do some mods so you can spin it up to 8600/8800 (eg valve springs) should gain 5+km
or even better add an ET137+4 supercharger wheel, im at 124kph with more to gain on similarly spec'ed ski

I’m going to try this in the next week or 2.

Ah interesting, slightly different to mine, mine does not seal against the "hood" at all, its a completely seperate box with a lid

I have a box as well. That is foam we use between cast concrete panels at work held on with adhesive Velcro to seal the gap after removing the seadoo storage bin.

That little bit is not going to change anything.

Not sure why you aren't banging on the limiter with that 14/19 being you added the 4" air. When I added the 4" to my 08 T-X I went with the 15/22 & still was touching limiter in cold temps. Also, without any mods at all it would run 68+ mph (110 kmh) GPS. Are you at really high elevation? RR

I have a 07 rxt u can c the mods in my signature any way im running a 15/20-1mm 75.7 mph @8180 I need to fill the ride plate holes that should get me to 76+. I use to run a 14/19 little better hole shot but slower on top.

It’s been 35 degrees Celsius with 26 degree Celsius water temps. We are 68m above sea level.

That's warm but I think you should be seeing more rpm. I bet if you change the plugs you will see another 100 or so. Be careful. When/if you see 8140+ that is getting to rev limit on T-X. I have seen 8180 but only during cold temps. She is fast then but on edge of problems. If you see that kind of rpm on factory tune don't stay there. RR
